Fahan Mura Cross Slab, IrelandYour model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
Fahan, County Donegal, Ireland.
A richly decorated 7th - 9th century cross slab, standing 2.1 metres high. on one edge is a Greek inscription (and the only known Greek inscription on a Irish cross) which Macalister deciphered as: “Glory and Honour to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost”. Below the cross on the west face are two ecclesiastical figures in profile. The pattern on their cloaks appears to be a very worn inscription but this has not been deciphered.
