Ancient Egyptian faience hedgehog amulet of unknown provenance but suggested to date to the 26th dynasty.

In ancient Egypt, hedgehogs had associations with protection, resurrection, and the sun god. They are often shown living in the desert, on the edge of order and chaos. Thriving in a harsh environment may have been seen as triumph over adversity.
