This identity of this shipwreck is unknown. It obviously is a schooner but other than its location in the south channel near the Straits of Mackinac south of Bois Blanc Island and its size which we did not measure, there is not much more to positively identify this shipwreck. For years it was incorrectly labeled as the schooner St Andrew, but after the discovery of the real St Andrew and Peshtigo a few years ago nearby in Lake Michigan, the maritime history community was left with a new puzzle of the real identity of this wreck. I’m sure eventually, by the process of elimination someone will hang a new name on it, but for now it is unidentified and thus the locally used name False St. Andrew. The model was created from a total of 5,058 images 1,617 - 6720 x 4480 pixel images from a Canon 5D with a 15 mm fisheye lens and 3,441 - 1920 x 1080 GoPro Hero 3+ video frame grabs.
