Fate of the Early Agricultural Pithouse ReplicaYour model is disabled. For more details go to Edit properties3D Model
After 8 months of exposure to the elements, the replica pithouse at Steam Pump Ranch was set ablaze. The house was a replica of a burned house from about 1000 BC at the site of Los Pozos which was excavated by Desert Archaaeology inc. The house burned quickly, completely engulfed by flames in about 5 minutes, and reaching an internal temperature of 1100 degrees F. Compared to the Los Posos house, this model records nearly identical features and patterns created by the burning grass walls and interior superstucture.
