More model informationThe Fulbright Peace Fountain is located between Vol Walker Hall and Old Main at the University of Arkansas main campus in Fayetteville Arkansas. It was completed in 1998, and dedicated on October 24, 1998. It was constructed in honor of J. William Fulbright, and his belief that “education, particularly study abroad, has the power to promote tolerance and understanding among nations.” Originally the fountain had water coming up through the middle. Supported by donations from 115 individuals and 18 countries Size: Consisting of sculpted bronze links atop a granite base, the fountain is 41 feet high and weighs nearly 12,000 pounds.
