Roman tropaion fibula. On the flat, oval cover plate of the brooch, several captured weapons and objects are vividly depicted. These are attached to a separate base, which is mounted on the brooch plate with four round rivet buttons. In the left half one recognizes an upright standing lance as well as an oval shield lying diagonally behind it. Immediately to the right of the lance tip a helmet and a field sign (vexillum). At the feet of the lance lies a tuba, to the right of it two double axes. On one of the axes the silver plating is no longer completely preserved. To the left of the lance is an oversized barbed arrowhead. At the outer left edge of the picture, a kind of coat (?) or armor (?) can be seen, as well as a slanting sword and scabbard above it. In the right half of the picture only a pilum muralis (entrenchment pole) (?) is left. The weapons or objects depicted in the center of the plate have been lost. Silver; 4,1 x 3,3 cm.
