ナガスクジラ　Fin whale

このナガスクジラの骨格標本は、1990年4月8日に大阪府の堺泉北港に流れ着いた死体から制作しました。骨格標本にするまで、7年かかりました。「ナガスケ」という愛称で呼ばれています。成熟したオスの個体で、全長は19mもあります。大阪市立自然史博物館のポーチに吊り下げて常設展示しています。

This is a skeletal specimen made from the carcass of a fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus) that washed in Sakai Senboku port, Osaka Prefecture. It took seven years to create the skeletal specimen. It is nicknamed “Nagasuke” and is mature male indivisual with 19 m length. It is one of the permanent display on the poach of the Osaka Museum of Natural History.
