Fish Marker Stone3D Model
From the information board: “Unearthed in the 20th Century, the Carved Fish was a marker stone denoting the distance from Richmond to Westminster Bridge by ferry, thereby acting as a fare stage for watermen. It is a small piece of limestone surmounted by a crude carving of a fish or other sea creature. Around its base could once be read ‘To Westminster Bridge 14 3/4 miles’ but the detail has eroded over the years and today only the word Bridge is visible.”
Located in the east side of Richmond Terrace Gardens by a footpath slightly north of the junction of Richmond Hill and Friars Stile Road, London.
