This is a fixed cadaver heart that was dissected by students learning about cardiac anatomy. This heart is from a 78 year old female with a medical history of bradycardia, cardiomegaly, chronic heart failure, atherosclerotic arteries, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. The heart was filled with foam to mimic filled vasculature and several pins were used to hold structures in place for scanning. The heart was suspended by clips to facilitate the 3D scan. This model uses reference number CC36406.
