Flor de la Mancha - Spanish dessert.
In Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura they are typical of Easter and in Galicia they are eaten at Carnival. But although this sweet is not exclusively from La Mancha, the fried flowers have acquired a great reputation there, especially in the town of Campo de Calatrava in Ciudad Real. This sweet is a very crunchy dough that is fried in a flower-shaped mold, and that’s where its particular shape comes from.
