Flowers from Mother Kali's feet inside a locket

My parents were not strictly religious, but neither were they wary of the sacred. When I was 4 years old, I was given a locket from Dakhineswar temple in Kolkata which worships Mother Kali. A few petals from flowers offerings at Her feet (the idol of the Goddess) were contained inside the locket as a form of blessing. It was my first identification with a religious artifact.
