解説 / Description:
大正期に大ヒットした、時計会社発明のゼンマイ仕掛けのハエ取り器。ゼンマイで回転する四角い柱のような部分にハエを誘因する酒やお酢などを塗ると、それに惹かれてとまったハエが回転に巻き込まれて箱の中に落ち、脱出できなくなる仕組みになっている。
This spring-loaded fly swatter invented by a clock company was a big hit in the Taisho era. The spring-loaded rotating square pillar was coated with alcohol or vinegar to attract flies, which were then caught in the rotation and fell into the box, where they were unable to escape.
