The foolix is a creature in Pikmin 4 which is a boss in that game. The Foolix is an unusually large single celled organism which consists of an orange membrane and a nucleus with a tail. The Organism concesls itself as a puddle of nectar when in rest, but when something is near it, say a Pikmin, it will spring into action, quickly growing and revealing the nucleus. The tail is more of a sensory organ, reaching outside the membrane. This can be taken advantage of, by using enough pikmin to pull on its tail until the nucleus is pulled from the membrane, which will split into several pieces when this happens. The foolix is helplessly immobile for a moment, in which you can attack it. You can also attack the puddles of membrane to destroy them, however, the foolix will eventually call the membrane back with its tail and reform into its normal self. The foolix membrane can drown pikmin in it.
