A well I created for a university project. I created the base model in Maya and the high poly version in ZBrush.
This was my first time working in this setup and I’m really happy about the final look, despite a lot of things that can be improved in the future. I also took the chance to try to create some alpha plants and I would’ve never thought that they’ll turn out so nice. I would’ve loved to give the well an outline by using a copy of the model with inverted faces, but I didn’t manage to get it to work in Maya.
The hand painting of the well is done in Substance painter. I tried to get as close to my usual watercolour style as possible. The plants are done in Clip studio paint.
I didn’t manage to get the back faces of the planes I used for the plants to show, so I slightly extruded them, what leads to a very high poly count. I also didn’t optimise the plants properly before uploading it here.
The poly count of only the well is: 22.3K triangles 11.8k Vertices
