Seated statue of Fortuna, found at Birdoswald.
Initially only the head was recovered and the body was found later. Her missing arm originally held a gubernaculum, or ships rudder, which is now lost. Fortuna, goddess of fortune and luck, was popular in military settings.
This object is currently on display in the Frontier Gallery at Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery Trust. Accession Number: CALMG : 1901.44.30.
