Fountain of the first republican series built in 1933 together with the nearby Fuente de las Cubas that formed a group in the recently created Glorieta de las Cubas. Its design is due to Manuel Álvarez Naya and José de Lorite municipal architects in these early years of the Second Republic. Its design is similar to the Fuente de las Cubas, from which it differs by its decorations, two balls, which give it its name in front of the acorns. It has a granite slab and being in an open space it has two sides and a double tap. In this place and a few meters from the fountain towards the embankment of the Meseta de El Lago was the old and important Ferruginous or Health Fountain that would later be removed from the wall between the Puerta del Río and the Puerta del Portón. The forest that forms between the source and the Lake is called the Forest of the Springs since there were up to three medicinal sources in it.
