The Franks family farmstead in the City of Green, Ohio, USA.
The five buildings and property shown here represent all that remains of the farmstead that began with Isaac Franks upon his arrival to Green Twp. in 1841. By 1881 he had acquired about 280 acres of land. “He likely bought this property with the Greek Revival house already built. Isaac purchased the 1st threshing machine ever brought to Summit Co. and imported the 1st Jersey calves in Green Twp. The farm also raised bees. Isaac and his wife had 2 children, Emanuel and Mary. Emanuel came to own this farm in 1878 and is responsible for building the existing barn in about 1884 and the large farmstead house in 1901.” - Judy Williams 1997 for the Ohio Historic Preservation Office (No. SUM-3162-20)
