The route of Frobost’s annual Beltane transhumance journey to the shielings has now been idenified and was recently followed by nine people and two dogs.
Until earlier this year the shieling huts were lost and unrecorded, but the sites have now identified and recently the original route was traced.
This model is of a significant bridge constructed from large stone slabs which forms part of that migratory group allowing passage across a stream which is the man drainage of the marshland West of Criribheinn into Loch Cnoc a’ Buidhe.
The bridge can be found at NF 7545 2486 to the south of Barp Fobost, the chambered cairn.
