More model informationOil lamp in the shape of a frog, dating to the Late Ptolemaic to early Roman Periods of Egypt. The provenance is unknown but ‘bought Hierakonpolis’ (an ancient city in Upper Egypt) is written on the bottom.
A very similar example is held by the Fitzwilliam Museum (accession number: GR.200.1899), which comes from EES excavations at the Lower Egyptian city of Naukratis.
