This piece was for a 4 week project for my first month of the UCLan MA Games Design course designed to help us figure out a focus question for our research. My initial focus for this project was to explore narrative and storytelling by creating a small diorama with only a few assets. The diorama was to be a WWII scene portraying a part of a building being blown up, but frozen in time. On one side would be a wall-mounted telephone, broken plaster, ripped wallpaper, smashed up floor boards and a gas mask with a smashed eye hole, and the other side, being the outer wall side of the building, would have wartime propaganda posters, as seen in this uploaded model. Unfortunately I didn’t get round to texturing the rest of those assets, so I am only uploading the wall model.
Despite not finishing this diorama, it actually helped me figure out a new direction to work towards for my year in this MA! I’ll now be looking into how artists can be more efficient with 3D work pipelines (hopefully sotrytelling still too).
