Fruit of the deciduous walnut tree. The walnut tree grows to a height of 15 to 25 m and can reach an age of 150 years. Its wood is considered the most sought-after and valuable in the Central European forest. The walnut is used in many dishes, from cakes to walnut ice cream. Walnuts have the highest content of linolenic acid of all nut fruits and is rich in a group of four different vitamin E forms. China is the largest producer with one million tons of walnuts annually.
