This is a petroglyph on basalt at a remote site in the Kaibab Forest that is attributed to the Late Western Archaic style
The area is approximately 120 x 60 centimeters. The petroglyph was created via direct or indirect percussion technique. This boulder face does show highly variable repatination implying that darker elements may be older but the localized repatination may be explained by variable exposure processes
This model was acquired during a field trip to compare rock art styles and techniques between contemperanous cultures in the Kaibab and Coconino Forest areas of North Central Arizona.
