Fulham Cemetery Chapel

The Church of England mortuary Chapel was designed in 1865 by Arthur Blomfield in Gothic style and located near the west gate from Fulham Palace Road. A second Nonconformist chapel was built nearby, but was demolished in the 1950s. The chapel is distinguished by a hefty bellcote over the west end and a scene of the Resurrection carved in the tympanum. Until recently the design of the cemetery and the chapel was attributed to J. G. Hall, but research by the Friends of Fulham Cemetery found that it is in fact an early work by Arthur Blomfield, son of the Bishop of London.
