Found in an abandoned Elucidating Shrine. The locket is a symbol of hidden desire. That whom one cherishes, but may not be near to, is kept hidden and precious, against the body of oneself. The relief depicts a flowering plant sprouting from a heart. It has begun to rust, its gold oxidising into a bright red, which will eventually cover the entire surface, colouring the heart. Initials C.A.D. are engraved at the back.
Love, in reality, produces surprising beauty in its biological complexity.
Its crafty owner sealed it shut in such a way as to guarantee the impossibility of opening without crumbling the entire thing to pieces. Upon hearing this tale, potential buyers were disappointed, lowering their offers, but a base price was maintained, and all future owners looked down at the locket in their cabinets, picturing the image contained - or not contained - inside.
