More model informationThis tholeiitic gabbro is late Carboniferous in age and comes from the Sheep Station Creek Complex in the southern New England Orogen in NSW. Mineralogy is dominated by augite and calcic plagioclase, with minor amounts of hypersthene, olivine, phlogopite and magnesio-hornblende. The geochemistry of this rock indicates it intruded in a back-arc setting.
