アラスジケマンガイ / Gafrarium tumidum

名前の由来形が仏堂の装飾に使われる「華鬘（けまん）」に似て、放射肋がケマンガイよりも荒筋（強い）ため。潮間帯中部〜水深20mの砂礫底に生息する。沖縄では潮干狩の対象となっている。

The name comes from its resemblance to the decorative “keman” used in Buddhist temples, and its ribs are stronger than those of the kemangai. It lives in sandy bottoms in the middle of the intertidal zone to a depth of 20 meters. In Okinawa, it is targeted for shellfish gathering.
