More model informationOn the gallows hill near Messern three columns made of quarry stone from the former gallows have been preserved. The columns have a height of 4.9 to 5.4 meters and a diameter of 1.3 to 1.45 meters. The 17th/18th century execution site is called a “three-legged gallows”. The columns face each other in a triangle, and gallows timbers were placed in the holes of the columns of different heights. Thus, several executions could be carried out at the same time.
