Another of the carvings located W of Feldom Rigg Lane in the Feldom Range area of Gayles Moor, North Yorkshire. This example is positioned a few metres W of a small stream.

This is catalogued ‘D11’ in Beckensall and Laurie’s 1998 publication, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’, and referenced ‘FR11a’ in Paul and Barbara Brown’s 2008 publication, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’. They describe:

“ROUND, FLAT 54 X 50 X 8CM. 5 CUPS, A GROOVE LINKS ONE CUP TO ROCK EDGE.”

Beckensall illustrated the motifs outlined above; however, this model appears to only show a definite cup and groove, along with another cup. Some other, smaller depressions are evident on the surface, though it’s unclear whether any of the markings found on this stone are actually prehistoric.
