This is one of several prehistoric carvings discovered in the Gayles Plantation area of Feldom Ranges, North Yorkshire. Stuart Feather first recorded it in 1972, and it was later catalogued as ‘D15’ in Beckensall and Laurie’s 1998 book, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’. In 2008, Paul and Barbara Brown referenced it as ‘FR20b’ in ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’, describing it as:
“Small rounded boulder 66 x 55 x 24cm. Eight cups.”
