This prehistoric cup marked rock is another of the cluster found in the Gayles Plantation area of Feldom Ranges, North Yorkshire.
Like many others in the area, it was first reported by Stuart Feather, and later recorded and drawn as ‘D20’ in Beckensall & Laurie’s 1998 book, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’. Paul and Barbara Brown subsequently referenced the carving ‘FR22a’ in their 2008 publication, ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’, where they described it as:
“Large rectangular rock 154x93x33cm. 14 cups marks.”
