Despite possessing similarities to the Thomas Davidson ceramic pipe, this pipe appears to simply be a generic copy of the other brand. In the 19th century, certain manufacturers in countries such as Germany were noted for making cheap pipes and plagiarizing maker’s marks. The embossed “TD” on the bowl may serve as an indicator for plagiarism, but it is unlikely considering the lack of other Davidson pipe traits such as “Glasgow” on the stem.
