More model informationThe 140 ft twin screw wooden propeller Genesee Chief was built in 1846, In its 45 years of service it burned six times and changed owners twelve times and was finally rebuilt as a barge. In 1891 it became waterlogged while carrying a load of shingles and was towed into a bay near Cheboygan, MI on Lake Huron, declared a total loss then towed out and scuttled. Today it is a shallow moored kayak, snorkel, and dive site. The model was created from 7,311 4k video frames. The was the first shipwreck I’ve done with a significant amount of seaweed growing inside the hull. I wasn’t sure how well the photogrammetry would work. You can see the weeds looking as some directions but much of it disappears since it is moving in the images.
