There is nothing easy about the tragedy of George Floyd’s murder except to feel the heaviness and an increase of compassion for a man who met an unjust end. It’s not right for a person to be treated the way George was treated the last moments of his life.
Racism needs to stop. Compassion and a desire for understanding must take its place. We cannot rise as a nation if those with power neglect those in their stewardship. This applies as much on the local level as it does on the broader, national level.
Black lives matter. I see you, and I love you. I hope one day we can all lift each other to higher ground and coexist in greater harmony and equality.
This is America.
Be kind to others.
