Technical

• 542ish images were taken of the statue in front of the stadium
• Images captured with a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and Mavic 3
• Agisoft Metashape Pro was used to photogrammetrize the images which resulted in a based 3D digital model.
• Original model was 12,700,000 polygons which was then decimated to 1,000,000 for Sketchfab

Project

A future project of the AVL needs several high resolution 3D models to eventually be laser etched into glass crystal displays. One of these displays will be presenting George Taliaferro. Our original 3D scan of this statue wasn’t high enough resolution, so the purpose of this scan was to get as much detail as possible.
