Gilded Brooch (NHMW-Prae 35.645)3D Model
3D scan of a gilded brooch with Almandine inlays from the Migration Period In the 6th Century. This brooch from Perchtoldsdorf/Lower Austria is square headed and shows several animal heads on the head plate as well as on the rhombic footplate. It is cast in silver, gilded and decorated with almandine inlays and niello. It was produced in the 6th Century, when Lombard groups inhabited the region.
This brooch is Number 40 of the NHM Top 100 and can be found in the Treasury Cabinet of the NHM Vienna.
