Gladys Vase
Author, Student Work This vase was created after learning about various traditional Native American pottery of the Southwest. The piece was handbuilt with no assistance of a wheel and when dry a specialized slip called terra sigillata was sprayed on the outside of the piece and burnished to a high gloss. The line work was created with a black terra sigillata using a traditional Mata Ortiz brush which is a long skinny brush made from human hair.
The scan was created using a blend of photogrammetry and 3-D scanning. Our 3D scans/models are created, processed, and refined by our PVCC students and staff. These scans are a work in progress. The team will regularly update the gallery, models, and scans as this project progresses. Thanks for checking out the art.
