Glass 'Frigger' Pipe

Glass items such as this pipe are also known as ‘Friggers’. Friggers are thought to have originally been produced as ‘end-of-day’ items by glassblowers, using up left over glass.

This green glass ornament in the shape of a tobacco pipe was blown in 1900 at a small glass works at Kilburn, Derbyshire.

During the process of creating this model, a layer of talc was applied to the object in order to capture it was accurately as possible. The talc has added a cloudy texture to the model.
