This 3D model represents a glazed pottery fragment recovered from excavations at Mote Hill, the site of Warrington Castle.
The fragment was uncovered during 19th-century excavations led by Dr Kendrick and forms part of the archaeological record associated with occupation and activity at the medieval site. Glazed pottery of this type provides insight into domestic material culture and everyday life within and around the castle.
Rarely displayed publicly, the artefact forms part of the Warrington Museum & Art Gallery collection. As part of a collaborative heritage initiative, it has been digitised to create a permanent 3D record, supporting public access, interpretation, and future research.
Special thanks to Craig Sherwood for facilitating access to the collection.
