More model informationA small bird egg (19mm x 18mm), with a decorative blue glaze. Part of the hole remains through which the contents of the egg were removed. This highly unusual object was found in tomb 393 of John Garstang’s excavations at the ancient Egyptian site of Abydos, during the 1907 season. The ceramic vessels also found in this tomb indicate the burial dates to the Middle Kingdom.
