More model informationThis headstone is located in the Howff Graveyard, Dundee, Scotland. The graveyard dates back to 1564 and there are plenty of really old stones located here. This stone informs the reader of the death of George Over who was a weaver. He died on 4 Oct 1695 aged 52. On the opposite side of the inscription there are carved motility symbols, a skull and bone. These carvings appear to be very amateurish and I believe that the family probably could not afford a qualified stonemason. The local press in Dundee contacted our group sometime ago as they had seen a photo of this on social media and believed the stone had been vandalised. I think this stone is great due to it’s simplicity and we have called it ‘Goofy”
