Govan 27

3D Model

Govan 27 (Stirling Maxwell’s numbering; ECMS 17) is one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally recorded at Govan Old in 1899. These monuments would have originally laid flat in the churchyard, likely marking the grave of a significant early medieval individual. The inscription was added around 1634, when the stone was reused. This is the earliest confirmed date we have for this type of reuse.

The 3D model was created with SfM photogrammetry, using Agisoft Metashape, and edited with Zbrush.
