Govan 6

3D Model

Govan 6 (Stirling Maxwell’s numbering; ECMS Govan 10; Lang 2) is the longest of the hogbacks. This is also one of three that are concave on the underside. It is uncertain why this was done, as the heaviest of the hogbacks, Govan 5, was not hollowed out as extensively as Govan 3 and Govan 6. The white spaces underneath the hogback are not ‘real’ - they are holes in the data that were filled in with Zbrush software.

This 3D model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten’s PhD, available here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was created with SfM photogrammetry, using Agisoft Metashape, and edited with Zbrush.
