The excavation of the 19th century Malleable Dept. of the Govan Ironworks, Glasgow was carried out by Rathmell Archaeology in the winter of 2018. The base map is the OS Town Plan of Glasgow from 1857-8, reproduced with the permission of the National Library of Scotland https://maps.nls.uk. The two 3d models represent the SE part of Area 1 and Area 2 where the remains of two 19th century chimneys belonging to buidlings within the Malleable Dept. were found. The other features shown are from Templetons Carpet Factory built in the 1960s which later became Castle Cash & Carry. The models were created with photogrammetry (& 3DF Zephyr software) with difficult ground & light conditions on site. Area 1 was actually 60m by 60m but due to waterlogging it was only possible to 3D model certain areas. Area 2 was also waterlogged and iced over. However it was possible to create models in these conditions though.
