Josef Scheicher (1842–1924) was an Austrian Catholic priest, theologian, writer, and politician of the Christian Social Party. He served as a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament and the House of Representatives, championed education, community affairs, and social issues, and published numerous religious and literary works. At the same time, he is considered a promoter of anti-Semitic movements in Lower Austria. Scheicher died in Vienna in 1924.
