Le Grand Prismatic Spring dans le parc national de Yellowstone est la plus grande source thermale des États-Unis et la troisième au monde, après Frying Pan Lake en Nouvelle-Zélande et Boiling Lake en Dominique.
Ses couleurs correspondent à la plupart de celles observées dans l’arc-en-ciel de la dispersion de la lumière blanche par un prisme optique : rouge, orange, jaune, vert et bleu.
The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world,[3] after Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand and Boiling Lake in Dominica. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin.
Its colors match most of those seen in the rainbow dispersion of white light by an optical prism: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue.
