Friedrich Wilhelm von Ellrodt (* January 16, 1772 in Bayreuth; † December 1, 1844 in Frankfurt am Main) was a German officer and politician.
He held the rank of Prussian first lieutenant. After marrying and settling in Frankfurt, he formed the military institutions in the Frankfurt governorate. Later he was appointed field officer and commander of Frankfurt’s Stadt- und Landwehr (“defence of the town and country”) and finally received confirmation as commander-in-chief of the Stadt- und Landwehr.
As a politician he was a member of the permanent civic representation of Frankfurt and a member of its legislative assembly.
His grave monument can be found in Frankfurt’s main cemetery and is listed as a cultural monument.
