Susie Melissa Burr was born on September 25, 1850, in Clinton, Connecticut. She had two daughters with Frederick Elbridge Burr between 1874 and 1878. She died on September 15, 1932, in Hillsborough, Florida, at the age of 81. She is buried next to her daughter Clara and Son-in-Law, Claude Oakley Moseley, at the historic Limona Cemetery. Susie was living with her daughter at time of her death at their home near Brandon, Florida which still stands today. Susie also has an insription on her husband’s memorial in Conneticut. Her grave is also marked with a Maltese Cross for the National Woman’s Relief Corps, Auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, Inc., 1883. This group was comprised of loyal to the Union northern women and was a national women’s patriotic organization after the Civil War.
