This model was created to represent the 10th century Graveney Boat find for a Master’s thesis completed at the University of Southern Denmark.
The original boat was clinker built, however this model shows a carvel hullform, this hullform is created from a lines plan, and this surface was used in the Rhino 5 plug in Orca 3D to test the design hydrostatics of the vessel. This model is an alternative reconstruction, inspired by the original reconstruction done by Eric McKee in the 1970s. For further information about the archaeological find please see Fenwick 1978, and for more information about this particular model, please see the finished thesis on my Academia page
The crates, barrels, voldemort, and snape mesh model was used for educational purposes, essential to the testing of the hullform in Orca 3D. I did not create them and do not own them, they are from an artist 3DRegenerator, whose art work can be found on TF3DM. They are used here to illustrate scale within the vessel.
