The gray dorcopsis is a marsupial that lives in West Papua and Papua Nuova Guinea in tropical primary and secondary forest, in particular gallery forest. It has a long muzzle and small, rounded ears. The tail is long and has a bare, cornified tip. Males are much larger than females: the head and body length is 97 cm in males and 39 cm in females, with tails reaching 97 cm and 31 cm respectively.
