A prehistortic carved rock which can be found in the Green Crag Slack area of Rombalds Moor (West Yorkshire, England). The stone measures 4.45m x2.8m x 0.8m and slopes down towards the north east end. Twenty seven cups are clustered towards the southern end, one has a ring. Several linear grooves are also visible but it’s difficult to work out whether they’re carved or natural. The stone itself is in an area rich in prehistoric activity including cairns, stretches of now denuded walling and several carved rocks. It sits next to one of the main tracks in this part of the moor.
The stone was recorded as reference IAG 325 in the 2003 publication “Prehistoric Rock Art of the West Riding” and Green Crag Slack 08 on England’s Rock Art database: http://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=2585
